The ensemble is celebrated both nationally and internationally for excellent musical interpretations originating in its quest for the deepest sources of inspiration: from lyrics, through harmony, texture and form, to individual feelings of the conductor and choristers. The choir was established in 2005 by Bartosz Michałowski, a long-time assistant to Prof. Stefan Stuligrosz, founder of the famous "Poznan Nightingales" Boys´ and Men´s Choir of the Poznan Philharmonic. Conducting experience acquired during numerous concerts with the Poznan Philharmonic and Sinfonia Varsovia orchestras played a crucial role in the establishment of the young artist's own ensemble, which soon found recognition among organizers of prominent competitions and festivals. Winner of Grand Prix Awards at major choir competitions (2006, 2007 and 2010), the ensemble has also earned a number of special prizes...    less

Director of Choral Activities Stephen Gothold, himself an alumnus, organized the recruiting efforts and the Chorale made its debut performance on Saturday, December 4, 1982 at the Whittier Presbyterian Church - a complete performance of Handel’s Messiah. Since then, the Chorale has sung over one hundred thirty concert programs in the Southern California area. The Chorale performed in Japan in 1994 and at the Hollywood Bowl in 1995 as it joined together with 1,000 singers from America and Japan to sing Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony. In 2001, members of the Chorale -- along with Whittier College students, alumni, and members of the Imperial Valley Choral Society -- toured Eastern Europe and performed selections of American hymns, spirituals, and sacred songs. Chorale members have also participated in the Classical Music Festival in Eisenstadt, Austria, a tour of Eastern Europe singing ...    less

It’s also known in English as Willie Take Your Little Drum. It was written by Bernard de la Monnoye around 1700. My English version here is a singing translation, so feel free to sing along in English :-) Guillaume prends ton tambourin Toi, prends ta flûte, Robin; Au son de ces instruments "Turelurelu, patapatapan" Au son de ces instruments Je dirai Noel gaîment. Willie take your little drum With your flute oh Robin come With the sound of flute and drum tootle tootle toot, bing a bang a boom with the flute and with the drum I will say Nowell with joy. C'était la mode autrefois De louer le Roi des rois Au son de ces instruments "Turelurelu, patapatapan" Au son de ces instruments Il nous en faut faire autant. In the goodly olden days The king of kings we'd praise with the drum and with the flute tootle tootle toot, bing a bang a boom, with the flute and with the drum we should do alike just so  less
