Performance and recording: ROCKY MOUNTAIN CHAMBER CHOIR - Virtual Singers
Text: EMILY DICKINSON
To the bright east she flies,
Brothers of Paradise
Remit her home,
Without a change of wings,
Or Love’s convenient things,
Enticed to come.
Fashioning what she is,
Fathoming what she was,
We deem we dream—
And that dissolves the days
Through which existence strays
Homeless at home.

This is from Ian's Sundry Songs for SATB, a collection of 5 choral songs published in 2010, which are settings of Tudor Poems. Haunting and contemporary, they also look back to evoke the spirit of the Elizabethan age.
