Members of the choir stem from various renowned choirs from Prague (Bambini di Praga, Radost Praha and others). The repertoire of Cancioneta Praga is very broad. It includes not only old-time compositions but also music of the 20th century, as well as carols from around the world and the Czech Republic, a selection of Czech folk songs and folk songs from around the world. The choir is also able to perform different styles of music, e.g. pop-music. Members saw the need for a name which reflected their distinctive sound and musical objectives. They chose Voyces – a uniting image, powerful in its simplicity, a word with a bit of a twist, reflecting the eclectic and often unusual repertoire of the choir. In using the archaic spelling – ‘Voyces’ – the choir acknowledges thousands of years of rich choral tradition whilst establishing itself in the 21st century choral landscape. The choir is fast making a name for itself premiering works never before heard in Perth or in fact the world. Voyces seeks to be an interactive and involved performing group in the local WA and wider Australian musical community. As a strong supporter of emerging young composers and Australian composers, Voyces showcases their works on a regular basis.  less

Each Funky Voices rehearsal is taught by highly qualified and experienced music tutors. Sandra Colston BA Hons (Musical Director) arranges the music to suit the choir members, and to bring the music up to date and possible for a choir to sing. The Sound With passions for vocal harmonies, and personal influences being likes of; Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire, Luther Vandross, Brian McKnight, Michael Jackson. With about 150 Singers, an organization team of 12 permanent members, a professional engineering and logistics crew, a band consisting of professional musicians and a passionate director Gospelnight Dresden fulfills all requirements to offer visitors of worship a memorable evening in meeting with the joy of the Gospel.
