Life is a Circle was written for the Salt Lake Vocal Artists and had its official world premiere at the symposium. Life is a Circle By Black Elk ~ Oglala Sioux ~1863-1950 Everything the power of the world does, is done in a circle. The sky is round and I have heard that the earth is round like a ball, and so are all the stars. The wind in its' greatest power whirls. Birds make their nests in circles; for their's is the same religion as ours. The sun comes forth and goes down again in a circle. The moon does the same and both are round. Even the seasons form a great circle in their changing and always come back to where they were. The life of a man is a circle, from childhood to childhood. and so it is with everything where power moves.  less

In the World Choir Championships which was held in Graz, Austria between 10th-17th July 2011, Boğaziçi Jazz Choir became the 'WORLD CHAMPION' in Contemporary Music and Folklore categories, and got the 'second prize' in Mixed Choirs category. Also winning ...  moreIn the World Choir Championships which was held in Graz, Austria between 10th-17th July 2011, Boğaziçi Jazz Choir became the 'WORLD CHAMPION' in Contemporary Music and Folklore categories, and got the 'second prize' in Mixed Choirs category. Also winning 2 more gold medals in 'Grand Prix of Choral Music' the champions competed in, the choir has come back to Turkey with a total of 5 gold medals. We would like to give special thanks to our main sponsor Finansbank, transportation sponsor Pegasus Airlines and everyone who has supported and given us the opportunity to take great pride in this success. As musical ambassadors for the Community School of Music and Arts in Mountain View, they are excited to reach our broader community to present a highlight of contemporary a cappella music and showcase the choral program at CSMA.
