We considered ourselves to be in a sort of nomansland sociologically, each for different reasons, but the Vosges valleys provided the most beautiful "nomansland" imaginable for our discussions. This song is the slightly mystical, and somewhat understated, memory of those days: Here in nomansland where all had fled the weather we waited patiently and enjoyed God's sun together Here in nomansland a grandson of Adam residing in his earthly grandfather's home the woods and sun presiding Here in nomansland Hermes' and Aphrodite's son sings cuckoo to the ill-shorn mountain top and then is gone Here in nomansland we sing to the other's consolation whilst peaceful dog and cows look on at our natural perchance divine oration is).getParent().getPrevious().style.display='';$(this).getParent().style.display='none';">less

That Choir was formed in the spring of 2008 by Craig Pike and 14 of his actor friends who wanted to create and share a music experience together. That Choir now brings together over 25 members with diverse backgrounds in work and study, and a mixture of trained and untrained voices. New Canadian artists are important for That Choir to nurture and have already performed new works by J. Scott Brubacher as well as Reza Jacobs in December 2010. Also in December of 2010, That Choir invited Canadian theatre Artist Nancy Palk to read Dylan Thomas's " A Child's Christmas in Wales" as part of That Choir Carols - an annual celebration of the Holidays. As That Choir looks forward into 2011, it is becoming well known for its a cappella repertoire of many styles and periods with a strong focus on storytelling. is).getParent().getPrevious().style.display='';$(this).getParent().style.display='none';">less

Our new Musical Director, Julian Collings joined the choir beginning of 2019. Over the last few years the choir has enjoyed a growing reputation for its repertoire of outstanding contemporary music alongside the established classics. TCS latest performances included the Creation of Haydn, Mendelssohn's Elijah, Mass in Blue of Todd, Rossini's Petite Messe solennelle. the Choir also perform a Christmas Concert every year. Overall we perform three main concerts a year. During its performances TCS enjoys the participation of professional soloists and orchestras and ensembles. Phil Culling is our accompanist. With past successes and imaginative programming, TCS is thriving. We are always glad to welcome new singers, regardless of age; especiallly those who enjoy their music making. We like to rehearse and perform with our sense of humour switched on. is).getParent().getPrevious().style.display='';$(this).getParent().style.display='none';">less

Recorded at the First United Methodist Church in Tucson, AZ on May 6th, 2023. Full text: "SHow me eyes like scars to soothe and seethe the thoughts thrice far and smoothly breathe calm vision light - ajar and free, this vision gift that's Deep as dust, and hard as feather leaves; sweet nectar light of lust and color brilliance; this stroke of sight's delivery." Program notes: As I was searching for text for a new composition in 2019, I stumbled upon a long-time friend’s poetry book and devoured it. Emanual Wolff’s MooNlight Howling spoke to me in its dark corners, surrealist takes on reality and visceral accounts of battles with mental illness and the struggle of existence therein. Forgiveness especially so; the first stanza of which painted an image of loss, of regret, and of reconciliation. My composition then took on a programmatic aspect – coming ... is).getParent().getPrevious().style.display='';$(this).getParent().style.display='none';">less

Written and composed in 1985 for the Shin-yu Kai Chorus, the song captures the Moment when one finds oneself straddling both uncertainty and optimism while thinking about the future. Takemitsu’s signature sound, featuring rich harmonies colouring melodious refrains, shines through in this conversational and thoughtful piece.
