Conspirare was founded in 1991 to present a summer classical music festival in Austin, Texas. Since then, the organization has grown rapidly to become an internationally recognized, professional choral organization that combines outstanding vocal artistry with innovative programming. Led by renowned founding artistic director Craig Hella Johnson, Conspirare is comprised of two adult ensembles and two youth choirs. The five-time Grammy-nominated chamber choir Conspirare, with extraordinarily talented singers from around the country, is presented in an annual concert series in Austin and other Texas communities, tours in the U.S. and abroad, and records on the Harmonia Mundi label. Our project El Otro en la Sociedad Criolla focused on compositions on the issues of minority groups discriminated against during the colony, such as indigenous peoples, blacks, gypsies and the disabled. We love music in Spanish and the native languages ​​of Spanish America. We love creating theater from these themes.

We started in small number of members until it grew bigger and bigger. During those times we were known to be a very good chorale group in our Diocese. It was the time where or group shined the most. Like other groups, our group also had its flop. Some of us are already busy studying in college after we graduated high school. That's why we need to find new members. We suffered from having lack of commitment of other members, and it gave us a difficult time to find new members. But our Maestro never gave up. He continued to build the group. We have a lot of plans to build again and let this group shine again with its brightest light. We are still sharing our music because welove this group and the passion to serve Christ through music is burning within our hearts.  less
