The group performs a wide range of choral music from medieval to modern times and is renowned for its exquisite musicianship and attention to detail. The establishment of the chorus is to build a platform for the youth to promote choral music and realize their dreams, as well as to organize different cultural exchange activities to promote music and serve the society. In the summer of 2011, HKVC held their debut concert “Sing Out a Dream” in the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall to raise funds to support the charitable work of the Lions Club of Central. In 2012, the chorus organized and performed five shows of a grand scale original youth choral musical “Like. So?”. The musical received positive comments and the chorus was even invited by renowned pianist Ms. Nancy Loo to an interview and performance in her RTHK 4 Radio Program “Cantilena”. Their initial vision was to be a Turkish Choir which is capable of making world class polyphonic music in Turkey and performing on international stages around the world. The Choir performed onstage for the first time on 12th August 2017, in the city of Batumi in Georgia. This concert was organized under the auspices of the Turkish consulate general in Batumi, in the concert hall of the Zakaria Paliashvili Music School. A selection of modern polyphonic songs from various cultures were performed and the performance received great praise from the audience. Then the Choir respectively appeared in front of audiences in Ankara, Kastamonu and Adana, followeed by their participation in Turkey Choirs Festival in June. Then in August, Anchorus participated in the competition episode of the “Orhid Choir Festival” which was held in the town of Orhid in Macedonia. We are a newly formed ensemble of women's voices from Canterbury in Kent. Our repertoire ranges from classical motet to jazz and female barbershop. We perform on a regular basis across Kent and have on going partnership links with Choirs in the UK and France.
