Based on the 16th century poem by a major figure of the Counter-Reformation, St. John of the Cross, the piece depicts a soul leaving its “still house” and venturing into the night. Seemingly fearless, the soul is guided out of the darkness by the light of love; Luminous Night reveals the soul’s fulfillment. Lyrics: Charles Anthony Silvestri/St. John of the Cross Long before music was sung by a choir, Long before silver was shaped in the fire, Long before poets inspired the heart, You were the Spirit of...    less

When Odwa Mvunge return to his birth community in 2012, after completing his music education studies at Nelson Mandela University, not much has changed. There still was no place in Zolani for the youth to express themselves in cultural activities that was not offered at school nor in the community. After school the youth would loiter around without direction. This lead to the formation of the Zolani Youth choir. The basic idea and purpose of the Choir is to equip youth of our community with basic music skills. The Choir consists of 25 scholars from different schools who are between the ages of 12 and 26 years. These scholars have no professional training or background in formal music, but have proven to have a passion and love for the art. Our first priority is for the choir to become a trademark attraction which will represent Ashton far beyond the region’s borders. The main objective of the Cho...    less

O. Afriyie Duet - Dr. Oduro-Barnie Kwaku Anim - Mr. Prince Theophilus Adjei Despite the many blessings and gifts that we receive from God on a daily basis, many of us fail to recognize or appreciate them. We take the beauty of nature, the love of our family and friends, and even our own existence for granted, forgetting that each of these is a precious gift from our Creator. Ultimately, our ingratitude towards God is a reflection of our own spiritual blindness and ignorance. We fail to see the many ways in which God is present in our lives, and we fail to recognize the many blessings that He bestows upon us each day. If we truly wish to overcome our ingratitude, we must learn to open our hearts and minds to God's presence, and we must strive to cultivate a spirit of gratitude and thanksgiving in all that we do. - Musikteers Ensemble Gh #trending #hymns #popular #viral #music #art #artist #choralmusic #sacred #soothing @VOCES8 @TheSympho...    less

The lyrics speak of the unconditional love and acceptance offered by Christ and how, no matter where one may have gone, there is always a path back to God. This song serves as a reminder that no matter what trials we may face in life, we do not have to face them alone, as Jesus is always waiting with open arms. @3abn @hopechannelghana5916 @VOCES8 @TheSymphonialsGhana @HARMONIOUSChoraleGHANA @16choir @choraldemmovementgh @GHChoralMusic #trending #popular #hymns #viral #jesus #cometojesus #ghana #newsong #newmusicalert #bestmusic2023  less

This song was written by Ralph Schmitt who (amongst other things) leads the Rodean Girls School Choir (Johannesburg). We had the pleasure of learning this from them at a workshop before a joint Concert in 2010. If you hunt YouTube you can find several clips of them performing it magnificently. Great choir, Great tune. Thanks Ralph! Opening Trio, Ali Orbaum, Sarah Pennington & Sam Burns
