The Choir is conducted by Paul Robinson and rehearses every Wednesday at the Gillingham Golf Club at 8pm. The Choir is currently looking for new members; the ability to read music is not essential, however, it is helpful and can be very useful. The Choir welcomes anyone who has a passion for singing. Like most traditional male voice Choirs we learn all of our pieces from memory and do not use copies. The Choir has a wide-ranging repertoire from West End showstoppers to opera, religious and traditional choral music. The Choir has gained a reputation for doing many concerts for charity and have raised a lot of money over the years for a number of different causes. The Choir has performed twice at the Royal Albert Hall with over one hundred Choirs in the Festival of Brass and Voices for cancer research UK. The Choir has made several tours both at home and abroad and has raised thousands of pounds for charity totaling nearly £3000 in the past year alone  less

Exultate is the Twin Cities' only professional Choir with a self-contained orchestra. The group's normal size is about 45 singers and 22 instrumentalists. Once a year Exultate expands its ranks to become a larger-than-chamber festival Choir and orchestra, performing and recording such major works for voices and instruments as A German Requiem by Brahms (sung in English), The Seven Last Words of Christ by Théodore Dubois (also in English), Mozart's Grand Mass in C Minor, Francis Poulenc's Gloria, the Mass in B Minor by Johann Sebastian Bach and the Requiems of Gabriel Fauré and John Rutter. Exultate has produced nineteen recordings so far - seven are Christmas albums with unique Christmas carol arrangements, many written especially for Exultate. The other twelve recordings are choral masterworks and works for organ or piano. Please go to www.exultate.org to see more inf...    less

We've been singing together for a number of years and have developed a relaxed, friendly style that's as much fun to listen to as it is to perform in. We have performed at a number of venues across London and the South East, and are continually expanding our repertoire and our circle of friends.

Recorded live on May 13, 2011, at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Performed by the Apprentice Choir Ensemble of the Girl Choir of South Florida. Artistic Director: Wallis Peterson, Accompanist: Susan Dodd. This piece was first debuted by the Girl Choir of South Florida as part of the festival chorus at the Keynote Arts Festival in June 2006. From breakfast on through all the day At home among my friends I stay, But every night I go abroad Afar into the land of Nod. All by myself I have to go, With none to tell me what to do — All alone beside the streams and up the mountain-sides of dreams. The strangest things are there for me, Both things to eat and things to see, and many frightening sights abroad Till morning in the land of Nod. Try as I like to find the way, I never can get back by day, Nor can remember plain and clear The curious music that I hear.  less

Artistic Director: Wallis Peterson, Accompanist: Susan Dodd. Before the paling of the stars, Before the winter morn, Before the earliest cock crow, Jesus Christ was born: Born in a stable, Cradled in a manger, In the world his hands had made Born a stranger. Priest and king lay fast asleep In Jerusalem; Young and old lay fast asleep In crowded Bethlehem; Saint and angel, ox and ass, Kept a watch together Before the Christmas daybreak In the winter weather. Jesus on his mother's breast In the stable cold, Spotless lamb of God was he, Shepherd of the fold: Let us kneel with Mary maid, With Joseph bent and hoary, With saint and angel, ox and ass, To hail the King of Glory. Before the paling of the stars, ...    less
