What an unbearable pain! Oh, gracious God! What an unbearable sorrow! The third bell of the Cathedral just rang; The sun set long ago behind Mount Lopital... Mother Nature derailed, straining everyone to misery. Large structures and small rafts have turned to dust and ashes. Jesus, Marie, and Joseph... Grace and Mercy... Mother Nature derailed, straining everyone to misery. We see, but we don't understand, It happened so suddenly. The earth trembled! The earth shook harder than a desert's leaf. Help! Help! Rescue me, I beg you! I'm at a loss for words... Dies irae, dies illa; (Day of wrath, day of anger) Requiem aeternam dona eis, Domine. (Grant them eternal rest, Lord.) Haiti! Haiti! What an unbearable pain, Tighten your belt. Haiti! Haiti! You are a valiant woman, Hang in there, don't give up... Rubberneckers from everywhere ask: "How's it going?"...    less

Paralia is a touristic seaside village situated on the west coast of the Thermaic Gulf and in the shadow of Olympus. The Festival has two parts: competitive and non-competitive. However, the character and the main concept of both parts is joining music, vacation, friendship and fun. The idea of the Festival is to bring the music closer to the people and to present the music on the streets and the squares of Paralia, Olympic Beach and Katerini. All choir Ensembles, regardless of the members’ gender and age can apply for participation at the Festival.  less

The choir was formed in 2002 under the directorship of Ellie Davidoff. Choir membership consists of youth from the 8th grade through to college age students. Now in their 13th season, this choir has grown in membership as well as experience. There are still several original members, and every season they are joined by their younger siblings and new friends, who add strength and spirit to the group. The repertoire of the Vision of Peace Youth Choir consists of hymns and folk songs sung in the traditional Doukhobor acapella style that has been passed from generation to generation for over 200 years. The hymns and folk songs as well as the contemporary numbers in their program Selection reflect their Doukobor beliefs as well as their steadfast wish for a peaceful existence on this earth.  less
