The group's first piece—William Byrd’s “This Sweet and merry month of May”, whose ending celebrated Queen Elizabeth I with the words And greet Eliza with a rhyme: O beauteous Queen of Second Troy, Take well in worth a simple toy. provided a great name for the group. Eliza’s Toyes was born, and existed every summer in Madison, Wisconsin. In 2008, a fair number of singers who were in Eliza's Toyes are living in Madison once again. To raise awareness of Alzheimer's Disease and other forms of Dementia, and to raise money for Alzheimer's Society UK, Homechoir singers around the world learned Kirby Shaw's amazing arrangement of Bart Howard's Fly Me To The Moon and recorded themselves s...  moreTo raise awareness of Alzheimer's Disease and other forms of Dementia, and to raise money for Alzheimer's Society UK, Homechoir singers around the world learned Kirby Shaw's amazing arrangement of Bart Howard's Fly Me To The Moon and recorded themselves singing it at home. Homechoir's sound engineers mixed all of the voices into a combined choir and this is the fantastic result. The Choir raised more than £2.5k for Alzheimer's Society.
