Conspirare was founded in 1991 to present a Summer classical music festival in Austin, Texas. Since then, the organization has grown rapidly to become an internationally recognized, professional Choral organization that combines outstanding vocal artistry with innovative programming. Led by renowned founding artistic director Craig Hella Johnson, Conspirare is comprised of two adult ensembles and two youth choirs. The five-time Grammy-nominated chamber choir Conspirare, with extraordinarily talented singers from around the country, is presented in an annual concert series in Austin and other Texas communities, tours in the U.S. and abroad, and records on the Harmonia Mundi label. There are more than 150 works of various times (Renaissance, Baroque, Classicism, Romanticism and music of the twentieth century) and styles (Choral concerts, Choral miniatures and songs, spirituals, songs of different nations of the world, folk songs, Christmas music) at the repertoire of our choir. Modern Belarusian music takes a large part of our repertoire, thanks to that we are happy to open Belarus to other nations.

The group's first piece—William Byrd’s “This sweet and merry month of May”, whose ending celebrated Queen Elizabeth I with the words And greet Eliza with a rhyme: O beauteous Queen of Second Troy, Take well in worth a simple toy. provided a great name for the group. Eliza’s Toyes was born, and existed every Summer in Madison, Wisconsin. In 2008, a fair number of singers who were in Eliza's Toyes are living in Madison once again. With a large repertoire ranging from art to popular music, and stretching from the medieval to the contemporary in style, this choir gives many concerts throughout the academic year, both in Ireland and abroad. Following a competitive selection process each September, eighteen gifted students are awarded a scholarship, with recipients of the award coming from a range of academic disciplines across the university, from Music to Medicine, Law, Agricultural Science, Commerce and Engineering. The choir regularly broadcasts on Irish television and radio.
