MYC brings together a membership of almost 400 families and offers youth between the ages of seven and 18 the opportunity to participate in eleven separate choral groups. Focused on drawing connections between music and the greater world, the program offers choristers Musical and social education opportunities through weekly rehearsals, annual concerts, and music retreats. the curriculum, focused on thematic Musical study, is presented in an environment of sharing, growth, and recreation, Allowing MYC to teach discipline, build self-confidence, foster teamwork, and provide constructive activity and positive role models during formative years.  less

We are based in CHICAGO's western suburbs. ECU performs two major concerts each season with full professional orchestra musicians and pro soloists, and also a mini-concert of our singers in solos and duets with piano. We often appear as featured guest artists with Elmhurst Symphony and in local appearances. Our outstanding volunteer singers come from throughout the CHICAGO area for a unique Musical experience. Our conductor James MacDonald has directed choirs and orchestras throughout the U.S. and overseas, and teaches conducting and music theory. Named after a beautiful and rugged region in Terra Nova National Park, the choir celebrates it's 10th anniversary season in 2014-2015. This is a true community choir of more than thirty experienced singers representing the professions of music, teaching, engineering, law, civil service, marketing, information technology and journalism. Nearly one-half of the choir's singers are students from across many disciplines of study. Newman Sound has realized an ever-growing loyal audience, a high local, national and international reputation and a very bright future having established an exciting and eclectic repertoire across the genres of classical, pop and folk including some outstanding arrangements and original compositions by several of the singers within the choir.  less

Since forming in November of 2010, the Marion Consort have performed in CHICAGO, Milwaukee, and Arlington Heights. This past August, they had the privilege of performing at the CHICAGO Cultural Center as part of the Classical Music Mondays series. their mission is to present performances for various audiences with music by well known composers, while also exploring the works of lesser known composers. the Marion Consort can divide into duos, trios, octets, etc. for a well-rounded and blended performance.
