We give you the pleasure of enjoying fine music and knowing you are a part of a Musical community - a team that enriches the life of All of us. We currently have about 50 members. We feature a variety of music from popular to classical. Our selections are fun and chAllenging for singers and entertaining and rewarding for audiences. Open rehearsals for potential new members are held in September and January at the beginning of the rehearsal seasons. No formal auditions are held, but we do expect new members to be experienced in four part choral singing, and to have some ability to read along with sheet music. Striving to achieve artistic, vocal and Musical excellence the choir singers are graduates of the Rubin Academy of Music Tel Aviv, the School of Choir Singing, music students and graduates of selected youth choirs, performing a varied repertoire including both classical and contemporary music. Siyabonga Dlamini and Sibusiso Sithole, with the primary objective (/s) of rehearsing and performing choral music, providing Musical services to the community when the need arises, to provide a Musical home for All interested in the greater Pretoria and Johannesburg area and to promote the standard of choral music. Secondarily Tswelopele aims to educate its members in the singing of All types of choral music, arrange concerts for the general public to attend, perform choral works with other choirs and participate in various competitions and music festivals in the community. the choir currently consists of 48 choristers. the choir being fairly young went to its first (TCMA) competition on October 18th 2015, winning first place in the development section. the choir has since went on to perform at Computeshare and Standard Bank respectively. We are based in CHICAGO's western suburbs. ECU performs two major concerts each season with full professional orchestra musicians and pro soloists, and also a mini-concert of our singers in solos and duets with piano. We often appear as featured guest artists with Elmhurst Symphony and in local appearances. Our outstanding volunteer singers come from throughout the CHICAGO area for a unique Musical experience. Our conductor James MacDonald has directed choirs and orchestras throughout the U.S. and overseas, and teaches conducting and music theory. MYC brings together a membership of almost 400 families and offers youth between the ages of seven and 18 the opportunity to participate in eleven separate choral groups. This is a true community choir of more than thirty experienced singers representing the professions of music, teaching, engineering, law, civil service, marketing, information technology and journalism.
