LCGC is known for their up-tempo gospel flair, swing-beat, R’n'B, traditional and soulful arrangements, with their invigorating choreography and vocal gymnastics – LCGC is outstanding to watch! It’s 40+ members perform just about anywhere, private corporate functions, after-show parties, conferences, schools, cabaret functions, clubs, weddings, christenings, funerals, prisons, churches, open-air festivals, theatres and concert halls. LCGC have sung on the soundtrack for Walt Disney’s “The Lion King”, performed for Nelson Mandela during his famous visit to London, officiated at many celebrity weddings and supported Madonna on stage during Live 8. They represent the best of British and have been sponsored by the British Council at international festivals in Europe, Africa and Israel. Since 2009 and thanks to his founder, Oscar Allen, the Choral Project has been working with young singers and developing young voices to excell in the interpretation and enjoyment of choral music and group singing. Due to an intensive and hard work, its members receive a full choral and scenic education, structured in the vocal individual technique and its different types of sound emission; on the development of corporal skills expression, and in the grupal practice of the choral exercise. This education is complemented by the permanent contact with other artistic disciplines as ballet and theatre are. Even though the repertoire performed is diverse and heterogeneous, its preferences are focused on the amazing generation of current Spanish composers and the beautiful treatment given by them to the voice. These dynamic and talented singer...  moreThe SYC was formed in 1998, as children's choir singers grew and voices changed! This four part chorus (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass) is devoted to music of all styles, including Classical, Broadway and Contemporary tunes. These dynamic and talented singers range in age from 14-25, and include young women in gr.11 and higher, and young men with changed voices. The SYC annually participates in the Family Christmas Concert, and choreographed year end show. They also stage an Orchestra concert each spring, which has presented pieces such as Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass, Vivaldi's Gloria, and Requiems by Mozart, Faure, Rutter, and Daley, to name a few. This year, the SYC looks forward to singing Carl Orff's Carmina Burana. The Youth Chorus joined the senior and chamber choirs in their 2009 tour to the UK. It was founded in 1998 in response to the success of the Choral Meeting of Alexandria Municipality and mainly because of the Alexandrians who love the choral music and the encouragement of the Board Members of the choir at the time. Like Melissanthi, Alexandrian Voices is, in the wider area of Alexandria, the music institution that target to the development of choral music, of course through the good company and the love for music itself. From the beginning it counts approximately 50 choristers, all amateurs (meaning that none has studied music) who love and sing almost all kinds of music. Since their beginning, Alexandrian Voices had the opportunity to participate and be distinguished in numerous events, competitions or not, musical or of special interest.
