It has evolved into an Ensemble determined to reinvent itself continuously as it develops a sound that is artistically intelligent. In its 14-year history, Novo Concertante Manila has competed and won in sevEral international choral competitions. Among which are the 2nd Choir Olympics in Busan, South Korea(2002), the 1st A Voyage of Songs International Chorale Competition in Genting Highlands, Malaysia (2003) and the 23rd Takarazuka International Chamber Choir Competition in Takarazuka, Japan (2007). In 2009, the choir won the 1st and 2nd Prizes at the 46th Internationaler Chorwettbewerb in Spittalan der Drau, Austria and the 1st Prize at the 55th Certamen International de HabanEras y Polifonia in Torrevieja, Spain. Described as ‘a fine body of singers’ by John Packwood in the Bristol Evening Post, they have delighted audiences with their fresh, inspiring interpretations of choral repertory from many centuries. The first verse is meant to symbolize a departed parent comforting their grown child from the great beyond. To be more specific, the parent is singing this lullaby to their child in a dream. I felt the Latin word “Lux” (Light) was an appropriate fit for the imagery of sunlight and heavenly light. The second verse represents the grown child waking up from the dream (first verse). This verse is meant to be bittersweet rather than strictly sad or angry. While there is grieving, the melody imparts comfort through nostalgia and memories. When the second verse gloriously blooms into the third, this represents everlasting love shining through even the darkest of times. Although gone, one will live in the heart and memory of another forever. Our Holiday...  moreThe Connecticut Master Chorale, founded and directed by Tina Johns Heidrich in 1999, is a premier Ensemble of 55 professional-caliber Vocalists with a precise blend and balance. We present two performances per season in Western Connecticut. Our Holiday Prelude Concerts are accompanied by the Connecticut Master Chorale Holiday Brass, and our Spring Concerts are accompanied by the Connecticut Master Chorale Orchestra. In addition to the regularly scheduled performances, our accomplishments include a Christmas Concert at the White House, a U.S. premiere performance at Lincoln Center, three Carnegie Hall appearances, as well as concerts at West Point, Madison Square Garden, and with the Ridgefield Symphony - all by invitation. We won the annual McDonald’s Gospelfest Competition three years in a row and have appeared on ABC TV. Our recordings have been featured on WMNR Fine Arts Radio in Connecticut.  less

We welcom...  moreThe J Singers combine singing ‘seriously for pleasure’ with performing charity fund-raising concerts throughout the county of Somerset. We sing a varied mix of music from traditional ballads and songs from the West End shows, to popular numbers. We welcome new adult members with or without prior choral experience. You do need some musical ability, but it's not essential to read music. Rehearsals are in Wembdon, near Bridgwater, on a Tuesday evening.

The group's first piece—William Byrd’s “This sweet and merry month of May”, whose ending celebrated Queen Elizabeth I with the words And greet Eliza with a rhyme: O beauteous Queen of Second Troy, Take well in worth a simple toy. provided a great name for the group. Eliza’s Toyes was born, and existed every summer in Madison, Wisconsin. In 2008, a fair number of singers who were in Eliza's Toyes are living in Madison once again. Thus we gather, outside of the Festival, for the joy of music making. It is our pleasure to continue sharing this wonderful body of music with you for the second year!  less

At present we have nineteen members, including our musical director and accompanist, both talented pianists who somet...  moreLadies and gentlemen of Reflections all live in Southeast Cornwall, and are drawn together by their love of music, singing in particular. At present we have nineteen members, including our musical director and accompanist, both talented pianists who sometimes provide a contrast to the choir’s singing with their piano duets. Reflections have given concerts in support of local charities, sometimes sharing the privilege with other choirs and soloists. Many of our venues have been for religious organisations, either within their services and celebrations, or for their related charities. Our repertoire is very varied and includes sacred music and songs from shows and films, with composers from Bach to Goodall, Cole Porter to Elton John. We have had a busy Christmas period with performances at Ridgeway Methodist Church, Plympton, Lanhydrock church and at the Mount Edgcumbe Christmas fair.
