In this video they sing an eight part a capella arrangement of a very famous Dutch folksong. The silver fleet (de Zilvervloot) was an annual convoy of ships in the 16th and 17th centuries, in which valuables from the Spanish colonies in America were shipped to Spain. In the Netherlands, the silver fleet is best known for its conquest by Piet Hein in 1628. www.esmgquadrivium.nl/en/association/vokollage/ www.doniasurowiec.be  less

Our aspiration is to take township choral singing to higher a level. It offers an opportunity to hear the very best in a long tradition of Welsh male voice singing. Cantorion was founded by Colin Jones in 1992 when he invited singers, who he knew and had taught and conducted previously in other choirs across North Wales, to join his new chorus. Since Colin and John Daniel's retirement, Aled Wyn Edwards has been able to match their skills in voice production and choral management with the enthusiasm and commitment of some of North Wales finest male choral singers and soloists and during the last 12 months has established a male chorus with a special sound and quality now recognised after its numerous tours and performances in many countries, worldwide.  less

The choir has built an international reputation and has made it a trademark to include newly written music in its programmes. This is thanks to the work of Knut Nystedt (b. 1915), organist, composer and conductor, who returned to Norway in 1964 after studying in the USA and started a choir at the music department of the University of Oslo. The choir continues to recruit members from the department of music, as well as from the Norwegian Academy of Music in more recent years. The American choral tradition in which Nystedt was trained emphasises the importance of new music – a practice Nystedt brought back with him to Oslo. Knut Nystedt’s music became a vital element of Schola Cantorum’s repertoire. Tone Bianca Sparre Dahl became conductor in 2002, and has further established the choir’s firm position in Norway’s musical life. She has continued Nystedt’s tradition of performing modern music. Schola Cantorum has a varied repert...    less

HIMIG SANGHAYA is a coined Tagalog phrase for MUSIC of THE HIGHEST HONOR. The directors, conductors and members of HIMIG SANGHAYA DO NOT TAKE SINGING LIGHTLY. They are a group of very young and talented artists who revel in their music, nurturing it as if it were an integral part of their being. They own up to a technical and musical maturity only to be surpassed by world-renowned and seasoned performers. They train very hard and continuously challenge themselves to achieve higher goals by aiming to master pieces of ever increasing levels of difficulty, and never fail to enthrall their audiences with repertoire that ranges from Renaissance to the 21st century, and experimenting with pieces influenced by lavish flavours of cultures worldwide.  less
