Formed by Graham Taylor in 1983 as The New Glasgow Singers, a small group of passionate choral singers looking to take on some of The less well-known works in The choral repertoire, it has grown into an organisation that has around 100 members singing a wide range of musical genres but still with The core wish to seek out and perform The less familiar pieces.
We perform a regular series of concerts each year: The details for The current season can be seen here. The range of music includes serious classical works, programmes of choral classics, West End musical pieces and The lighter popular music included in our annual Christmas Cracker concert. Our full repertoire can be seen in our list of past concerts. Some notable highlights have been Walton’s Belshazzar’s Feast, Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis, Berlioz’s Grande Messe des Morts and Mahler’s Eighth Symphony - The Symphony of a Thousand. less

The history of The Benedictine choirs would not be complete without reference to The great English musician Rev.Bro. Hugh Farrington , ably assisted by Bonnie Fonseka. They established The reputation of Benedictine choirs. Bonnie, who was The Master in charge of Music in addition to being in charge of The Commercial Studies section , was able to form and maintain a choir of over s... less
