Spera means Hope in Latin, and it is a members’ shared vision on music. All members studied a sacred choral music under Koji Oguchi, choir director, when they were high school students. they were deeply touched by Oguchi’s music and established the Ensemble Choir SPERA. Making its debut in concert in March 2014 at Tokyo Opera City Recital Hall, SPERA’s music was highly prized and well-reviewed in newspapers. It serves in Masses and services and performs in concerts as an ecumenical choir, composed of students from Kitasato University, International Christian University, Hitotsubashi University and Rikkyo University. This choir is part of Community Development by Hope Citadel Health Care and the Salvation Army Eden project in Fitton Hill Oldham. It is open to all no matter what musical background, if any you may have. We "sing for the the sheer joy of it&...  is).getParent().getNext().style.display='';$(this).getParent().style.display='none';">moreisplay:none;">This choir is part of Community Development by Hope Citadel Health Care and the Salvation Army Eden project in Fitton Hill Oldham. It is open to all no matter what musical background, if any you may have. We "sing for the the sheer joy of it" and do local concerts. Recently we have sung at a large church inter-denominational christmas gathering and the highlight of the year to sing at a wedding at the request of the Bride and Groom.  

We have joined with five leading Cornish choirs and young people to sing this song, with its message to the G7 of Hope for an environmentally safer future.
