Sleep, little eyes
That brim with childish tears amid thy play,
Be comforted! No grief of night can weigh
Against the joys that throng thy coming day.
Sleep, little heart!
There is no place in Slumberland for tears:
Life soon enough will bring its chilling fears
and sorrows that will dim the after years.
Sleep, little heart!
II
Ah, little eyes
Dead blossoms of a springtime long ago,
That life's storm crushed and left to lie below
The benediction of the falling snow!
Sleep, little heart
That ceased so long ago its frantic beat!
The years that come and go with silent feet
Have naught to tell save this — that rest is sweet.
Sleep, little heart.

Llega la hora del olvido
los recuerdos se oscurecen
los arboles vuelven a la tierra
los mares a los cielos
el tiempo va retrocediendo
y tú te olvidas de mi
Llega la hora del eclipse
las luces ya desaparacen
los amore vuelven al pasado
los fuegos al espacio
el tiempo va retrocediendo
y tú te olvidas de mi
Llega la hora de la sombra
las estrellas cambian de color
los amores vuelven al pasado
mientras te sigo mirando
el tiempo va retrociendo
y se que no vas a volver

translation
The hour of forgetting arrives
memories darken
trees return to the earth
the sea to the skies
time is receding
and you forget me
The hour of the eclipse arrives
the lights already disappear
the planets return to the infinite
the fires to space
time is receding
and you forget me
The hour of the shadow arrives
stars change their colour
lovers return t... less

Concerts by the group feature a cappella music of Scandinavia and the Baltics, as well as North-American composers. Music by composers such as Mäntyjärvi, Daniel-Lesur, Rautavaara, Martin and Pärt are ideal showcases for the choir’s lush and full sound.
Members of the group are dedicated to excellence in rehearsing and performing. With a repertoire consisting of 8 to 16-part music, the twenty singers are mostly performing as soloists.
Now in its fifth season, voces boreales has already performed in a number of prestigious concert series, such as the National Arts Centre eXpres- sion series, Musique Chez Nous at Bishop's University, Mondial Choral Laval and the Montreal InterNational Bach-Academy.
The ensemble voces boreales is produced by the Montreal Choral Institute and appears in its various educational events, such as the Montreal Choral Masterclass. less

In his review of the “American Voices” program, Scott Cantrell of The Dallas Morning News wrote “The variety certainly displayed the ensemble’s impressive versatility. Habermann consistently got vivid performances, introspective music elegantly colored and shaped, extrovert fare delivered with great pizzazz. Individual singers got lots of solo exposure.”
Now in his eleventh season, Artistic Director Joshua Habermann leads the Chorale in repertoire spanning seven centuries, from early polyphony to contemporary works. The composition of the Chorale is truly National in scope and the ensemble is recognized as one of the finest American chamber choirs. A recent highlight was an invitational appearance at the American Choral Directors Association National Conference, which was later broadcast by Minnesota Pu... less
