Water Ruminations is a setting of six poems by the thirteenth-century poet Rumi, in English translations from the Persian by Coleman Barks, for double choir and organ. The poetry sings of literal and spiritual connections between water and sky, a drop of water and human life, flowing water and love, drinking water and its container, the giddiness of spring and rolling seas, and the ocean's gifts and singing. Its images, from 800 years ago, speak to us with both vivid immediacy and transcendence. They have moved up to the top training level...after starting in beginning levels in the Summit Children's Choir. Founded in 2014, the choir has performed more than 350 concerts in Poland and abroad. Our repertoire combines pop, folk and world music in original vocal arrangements, often enriched with movement and choreography. We sing mainly in three-part harmony and work without traditional sheet music, focusing on sound, expression, memory and a direct connection with the audience. Over the years, we have performed at festivals, major cultural events and international projects across Europe, collaborating with professional musicians and artists. We have also created dozens of educational concerts for children and community-based music projects.
