The re...  morePrima choir Bulgaria conductor - Aneta Dragneva-Danailova Prima choir has been founded in 1996 in the pretty Bulgarian town on the Black Sea coast – Pomorie, by 25 women, practicing versatile jobs, but united by one common love – the Music. The repertoire includes works of different styles and epochs. The main part of the production is dedicated to the Church Slavonic music, variations of authentic Bulgarian folklore, and, in the same time, productions of modern Bulgarian authors. The vocal ensemble has set the ambitious task to reach a homogenous and beautiful sound, expressiveness and the right stylistic interpretation. “Prima” choir has delivered artistic tours in Sweden (1997), Poland (1997), Greece (2002), Portugal (2004), France (2006), Albania (2010), Greece(2013)… The formation has taken part in the Balkan Mountains fest in Veliko Tarnovo in 2001. It does not meet on a regular basis, but comes together for short, intensive work periods, culminating in performances, or “projects.” The majority of its musicians are recruited from the metropolitan Washington, DC and Baltimore areas, but some come from as far away as New York, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. We offer high-quality performances of significant Choral, and Choral-orchestral music, concentrating especially, but not exclusively, on the music of Johann Sebastian Bach.
