Johansen Choirs are truly honored to represent our community in various capacities as well as having the opportunity to tour throughout California, often giving Students their firSt experience outside of Stanislaus County. We are excited that nearly 60 Students will participate in the vocal music program at Johansen High School this year. LaSt year our Choirs participated in multiple feStivals, sang by invitation at many local events and toured San Diego. The department’s Viking Singers won a conteSt this summer and sang on Stage with Foreigner at the County Fair. In addition, they hail from eleven different States in the Union: Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Maryland, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and, of course, Washington, D.C. The group actually began in October 2005 recording a small project of a cappella hymns (The Hymn Project) as a ChriStmas gift for one of their mothers. The ensemble has performed at the Maryland Renaissance FeStival annually since 1987. Are you a choral singer? Do you like to sing old and intereSting music in different languages? Do you like to dress in coStume and attend renaissance feStivals? We have the perfect opportunity for you! The Renaissance Revelers are looking for singers. All parts are needed, but we are in particular need of tenors and basses. Ability to sight read is not required but is desirable.
