We sing most typ...  moreWe are a Choir of about 40 people, based in the City of London near St Paul’s Cathedral. 60 years after our foundation in Hanover Square, we are still making great music and continuing to attract some of the liveliest people in London. We sing most types of choral music, and have occasionally dipped our toes into both jazz and folk repertoire.

The Choir has a wide-ranging repertoire – from traditional sacred music to modern, contemporary compositions, popular arrangements and music from around the world. They perform regular concerts in London and the South East, as well as touring each year, with recent trips including Italy, Slovenia, Croatia and Greece. In 2025 the Choir celebrated their 10th Birthday year, and the 25th anniversary of the founding of Northern Spirit Singers. Rehearsing monthly in central London, Southern Spirit Singers aim to perform the very highest standards of choral music in a relaxed and fun environment. In 2019 the Choir returned with four gold medals from the European Choir Games in Gothenburg. The constitution and first rehearsal of the cho...  moreAcademic Male Choir of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing was established on January 11, 2016 as the initiative of the conductor Josip degl' Ivellio and the Dean Professor Mislav Grgic, PhD. The constitution and first rehearsal of the Choir was held on January 18, 2016. The Choir has been holding since its foundation regular weekly rehearsals, and has grown into the biggest male Choir in Croatia, but also wider. The Choir in its repertoire emphasizes classical choral literature, primarily Croatian composers. In addition, the Choir's repertoire includes both a cappella compositions of the classical repertoire, from Renaissance to contemporary music, as well as the clapet and compositions of contemporary or popular multilayer music. Members of the Choir are present the former students and staff of the Faculty, as well as other interested friends and supporters of the Faculty. Since foundation, Choir has won multiple golden plaques and more than 80 concerts or performances.  less

The first concert was December 1964 at the National Gallery. After one season, Gerald moved to Montreal and Brian Law took over as director of St Matthew's church and took over directing the Cantata Singers as well. In 1969, the Choir was invited to sing Purcell's Dido and Aneas at the new National Arts Centre in November. To balance the NAC Orchestra, the Choir increased in size to 44 members.
