We rehearsed for most of The day in ...  moreOn 24th November 2012 we brought togeTher 98 singers and four Choral directors for our most ambitious project to date: a Choral workshop on Thomas Tallis' monumental 40-part motet, 'Spem in Alium', composed in 1570. We rehearsed for most of The day in two-Choir sections, with our four Choral directors, Scott Inglis-Kidger, Sarah Tenant-Flowers, Riccardo Bonci and Jonny Davies. After lunch we began to put The sections togeTher. At 4pm we brought all 8 Choirs togeTher and Scott Inglis-Kidger led a most thrilling final performance. Rory Wilson, an experienced Choral conductor from Edinburgh, has been appointed and has begun work with The Choir towards our first Concert under his direction in November 2018, based around The Fire Songs of Morten Lauridsen, pairing his settings with settings of The same or similar texts by Renaissance composers.

We aim to give two or three Concerts each year, plus a Christmas Concert of music and readings. We are based in The village of Rolleston-on-Dove near Burton-upon-Trent, and draw our members – numbering around 50 at present - from a wide area of East Staffordshire and South Derbyshire.
