Through dedication and hard-work, the Harmonious Chorale has carved for itself a niche and an identity which has provided mentoring opportunity for many choral groups in and outside Ghana, staging over thirty five (35) well executed and attended concerts in Ghana alone. In 2018, Harmonious Chorale became Champions of the World Choir Games (Category C28) during its maiden participation in Tshwane, South Africa. Directed for more than ten years by Michael Bawtree, its repertoire spans the Renaissance to the present day and has included the Scottish premieres of works by James Whitbourn, Hans Gál, Jan Dismas Zelenka, Richard Bush and Judith Bingham. the choir performs regularly in Glasgow and central Scotland, and has toured to France, Holland and Sweden, where it has formed links with other Choirs. Recent BBC radio engagements have included William Walton’s Henry V Suite with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Sunday Worship live and Bryan Burnett’s ‘Get it On’ show live on BBC Radio Scotland. the choir features regularly in Raymond Gubbay’s Christmas Festival in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.  less

From 2012 up to now our choir group is still alive. We started in small number of members until it grew bigger and bigger. We started in small number of members until it grew bigger and bigger. During those times we were known to be a very good chorale group in our Diocese. It was the time where or group shined the most. Like other groups, our group also had its flop. Some of us are already busy studying in college after we graduated high school. That's why we need to find new members. We suffered from having lack of commitment of other members, and it gave us a difficult time to find new members. But our Maestro never gave up. He continued to build the group. We have a lot of plans to build again and let this group shine again with its brightest light. We are still sharing our music because welove this group and the passion to serve Christ through music is burning within our hearts.  less

This new commission revolves around the creation of a person with endless potential. the text centres on a well-know whakatauki or proverb: Whāia te iti kahurangi, ki te tuohu koe, me he maunga teitei [Seek that which you treasure most – if you must bow your head, let it be to the loftiest of mountains] A mihi pepeha, hailing the fabrics of space and the throes of the heart, is joined by the organ – a giant celestial factory, chaotic and cacophonous, with great starry arms placing pieces into unique moulds forming the fragments of the final section of the work – a mighty invocation of the whakatauki.  less
