Salvacosta was formed in June 2000 and functioned for 16 years raising over £55,000 for various charities. In 2017 a new smaller ensemble evolved from Salvacosta in the form of Muzaria www.muzaria.com focusing on Stage & Screen music.

First and foremost, its name is closely associated with its first conductor Artūrs Bobkovics (1885-1959), who already then had become "the king of Latvian symphonic music". He organized the concerts of symphonic music and helped promote them. For the first time, the choir came together in the evening of October 18, when about 90 students gathered at Riga Secondary School No 2. The testing of voices was not very strict, and of the entire enthusiastic crowd only one student was rejected. Then, for a month, rehearsals were held, in which the voices of would-be singers were trained and made to keep in tune. After that another testing was held. This time the competition was much stricter, and only 40 singers were selected. The choir has a multilingual playlist which extends from Armenian traditional folk songs to modern Armenian or non-Armenian songs.
