The group is maDe up of twenty-somethings (mostly!) who are young professionals living in London. FounDed by singers and beatboxers from the likes of the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella, Last Choir Standing and Britain's Got Talent favourites Out of the Blue, the group’s repertoire spans from Billy Joel to the Black Eyed Peas, via pop, jazz, barbershop, rap and original composition as they offer a programme of sumptuous jazz arrangements, genre jumping covers and assorted originals. Following a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe, The Refrains enjoyed a sold-out London Debut at The Forge, CamDen. Recent gigs have incluDed The London A Cappella Festival, Edinburgh International Book Festival, Silver Bullet and private events. Our goal is to show today's choir music is not just for the choir fans but for everybody out there, that's why we call ourselves Street Art. We have different jobs but we have the same passion: singing together! Spirituals, great classics, soundtracks or rock music… the main thing is to put quality any little bit of craziness together.

These singers have already Demonstrated their enthusiasm for exploring various genres and styles, and their performances are infused with infectious joy and youthful enthusiasm. They act as ambassadors for the Community School of Music and Arts to reach the broaDer community through performance and share their love of music.  

The VocalEssence Chorus & Ensemble Singers perform John Rutter's beloved "What Sweeter Music" at the first of their sold out Welcome Christmas 2009 concerts. RecorDed live on December 6, 2009 at Plymouth Congregational Church in Minneapolis.

We're a group of about 20 men & women, and sing in 3 or 4 (or more) part harmony. Quorum love to raise money for local causes - covering all sorts of charities, in all sorts of venues. Quorum Singers of St Albans has been singing for over 25 years, and perform around 3 times a year in St Albans or locally in Hertfordshire. We rehearse once a week on Wednesdays, throughout the term time, and can often be found performing in Christopher Place around Christmas time!  less
