The style of singing is more 'pop' than classical and the choice of music reflects this, with the repertoire including show-tunes, popular songs from the 1930s to today, as well as classic barbershop arrangements. There are strong links to musical theatre in that most songs are choreographed, and performing skills are a key element in making a song work.
We rehearse every Tuesday, 6:30pm-9:00pm, in central London between Kings Cross and St Paul's. We are always on the look out for enthusiastic and talented women so if you're interested in joining, do drop a line to hello@londoncitysingers.co.uk for details. less

During this time the choir has achieved success on many levels: Locally they have received 10 golden diplomas on provincial level for the “ATKV Applous” competition in the category for advanced, mixed high school choirs; and 7 golden diplomas on national level for the same competition. They were the only choir in the history of the Director’s trophy who won the award 8 times and they were also the first to do so in all three categories: mixed- (5 times), boys’- (twice) and girls’ choir (once). They have also received double gold at the Gauteng Eisteddfod, A and A+ awards at the Pretoria Beeld Eisteddfod and first place in their category in more than one local competition. They have annual workshops and master classes with well-known and respected conductors (both locally and internationally) and have hosted many international choirs and groups. This group is made up of 10 singers and performers all under the age of 25, giving Vandeca a Youthful and fresh take on every genre, from classical to pop, musical theatre to jazz, and everything in between! Each singer in Vandeca comes from a different musical background, shaping who we are as a group. Having only been in existence since November of 2011, this group has big plans to shape the face of choral music in Vancouver, encouraging our audience to feel connected with our performances through multi-genre pieces, and using movement and amazing sound to inspire others to become involved with their local choral groups. less
