W.J. Kirkpatrick's “Away in a Manger” is one of seven carols arranged by Mr. Gjeilo in his Christmas Carols Vol. 1 & 2 (published by Walton Music). Megan McCormick is the soprano soloist on this video.
ABOUT the COMPOSER:
Ola Gjeilo (pronounced Yay-lo) was born in Norway in 1978, and moved to the United States in 2001 to begin his composition studies at the Juilliard School in New York City.
Ola’s concert works are performed all over the world, and his debut recording as a pianist-composer, the lyrical crossover album Stone Rose, was followed by its 2012 sequel, Piano Improvisations. Many of Ola’s choral works are featured on Phoenix Chorale’s bestselling Northern Lights album, which is devoted entirely to his Music for choir. All three albums are available on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, etc.

Founded by a group of choral Music lovers in 2002, KCC has leaded the choral Music community to an unceasingly advancement in southern Taiwan. KCC performs a vast selection of local and international repertoires, Female or male choral work, a cappella pieces, contemporary chamber choir Music, and newly commissioned compositions in its semi annual concerts and other occasions. KCC’s active presence on stages has brought several acclaimed rewards from private and public offices.
Under the leadership of the current Artistic Director, Dr. Chia-fen Weng, KCC launched the Elite Workshop to further expand the choir’s caliber in 2007. This program recruited a few young talented singers to act as voice teachers in the choir, such as Hua-chen Liang, Je-jium Chan and Ying-jen Yao, and offers Music theory, body movement and dancing lessons to its members as part of this Elite Workshop program.

Boula declared
