It consists of 27 members and a 5 piece band. Their ages range from 18 to 35 years and they are based in Kwazulu Natal. THE members of this Choir come from many different places around Zululand and 90% of them are unemployed. AIMS and OBJECTIVES • The main aim of this Choir is to gather people who have the same vision together to produce good ‘live’ performances. Also to record strong material and spread the word of God through Music. • To search for talent and make use of it in the most profitable way. • To create job opportunities for the youth. • To grow and develop artists in Music. • To make a difference in people’s lives by creating job opportunities. WE audition artists who apply to us and then choose the very best. WE rehearse every weekend (Fridays and Saturdays) in Richards Bay. WE compose songs and also encourage Choir members to do the same. The Choir is made up of 25 members from a variety of professional backgrounds, including teachers, scientists, clerics, accountants, carpenters, and engineers. The Choir's repertoire consists mainly of choral works from the renaissance and 20th century, as well as contemporary pieces in Hungarian, English, Latin, Italian, French, and German. The Gesualdo Choir has earned several national and international awards, winning top ratings in Hungary as well as 2nd and 3rd place prizes at the prestigious Tonen Choir competition in the Netherlands. Philomela is a wonderful experience that will linger in your mind even after the Music has died down. Philomela has become one of the most highly regarded Choirs in Finland. Marjukka Riihimäki has acted as the Choir´s conductor since it was established in 1984. Philomela is one of the most original Choirs in Finland. It is a group of 40 unprejudiced, Music-loving women who together form a graceful, polyphonic Musical instrument. The Choir performances are intensive and surprising experiences which combine theatrical elements to Music. Philomela’s rehearsals are held in Helsinki but the Choir gives several concerts per year all over Finland as well as abroad. Musical profile of Philomela is composed of contemporary Scandinavian Choir Music with flavours of world Music, especially Finnish folk Music.  less

As we are enveloped in this loving tranquility, the voices of the Choir intensify until they reach a second theme, one that is more marked and determined. This sequence entitled ”The French Dream’, introduces us to a more mysterious and dreamlike atmosphere, straight out of our childhood fairy tales.
