All busy professional folk, who understand we cannot all make every rehearsal! Classical almost always unaccompanied repertoire. Palestrina, Bach, Victoria, Britten, Howells, RVW, Elgar, Poulenc etc, Need enthusiasm, music reading and some sight singing, or a good ear and quick learning. We dont audition, but invite you to try us and we to try you for a couple of sessions and see. Perform about 2 or 3 times a year.  

Formed in November 2005, the Choir has performed around England, Wales, parts of France and Germany. Members of the Choir also run a training Choir to train other Choirs to perform Gospel music. The small training Choir is able to travel anywhere. To da...  moreFormed in November 2005, the Choir has performed around England, Wales, parts of France and Germany. Members of the Choir also run a training Choir to train other Choirs to perform Gospel music. The small training Choir is able to travel anywhere. To date they have travelled to Cornwall, Devon, Derbyshire, Wales, France and Germany. The whole Choir is mixed, with approximately 50 singers and performs around 30 times a year. We are based in Oxford and many of our younger singers have gone on to sing professionally in London. We sing a wide range of classical repertoire, from Gregorian Chant and Renaissance polyphony to contemporary works, many written by John Duggan. We have recorded two discs for The Gift of Music and give concerts in Oxford and London, as well as making regular trips to France and Italy.

I had the honour of making the announcement on behalf of Archbishop Desmond and Mrs Leah Tutu, who have given me permission to develop the initiative around the world, in support of their own Justice, Peace and Reconciliation work. The Archbishop first heard Choir Invisible perform outside and inside the King's Hall, Stoke-on-Trent, on 11 July 2008, at a Civic Reception held in his honour. He was, quite simply, spellbound by the Choir and an immediate rapport was established. Upon his arrival at the King's Hall, the harmony of the Choir, singing a Swahili love song 'Malaika' (My Angel), caused him to stop and listen. When they had finished he walked up to the Choir, cheering and applauding and, to the great delight of the Choir members, placed his hands ...    less
