Les Chantres Musiciens’ repertoire is both varied and complex, comprising a range of works from the Romantic period (including Mendelssohn, Schubert, Schumann, and Brahms) to Post-Romantic and modern compositions (including, for example, Schafer, Reger, Schönberg, and Langlais). the ensemble has earned a reputation for excellence, confirmed by prizes at national and international competitions, tours, and several distinguished recordings. their first tour brought them through Germany and France, garnering critical and public acclaim, particularly at the Festival de Musique de Moselle. Described as ‘a fine body of singers’ by John Packwood in the Bristol Evening Post, they have delighted audiences with their fresh, inspiring interpretations of choral repertory from many centuries. Members of the Choir come from many parts of the UK for intensive weekends of music-making, culminating in concerts acclaimed for their invigorating choral sound, clarity of tone and texture, and innovative programming.
