Paralia is a touristic seaside village situated on the west coast of the Thermaic Gulf and in the shadow of Olympus. The Festival has two parts: competitive and non-competitive. However, the character and the main concept of both parts is joining Music, vacation, friendship and fun. The idea of the Festival is to bring the Music closer to the people and to present the Music on the streets and the squares of Paralia, Olympic Beach and Katerini. All Choir ensembles, regardless of the members’ gender and age can apply for participation at the Festival. GENERAL CONDITIONS All Choir ensembles may join one part of the Festival: Competitive or Non-competitive.  less

The success of this project led to a charity perfo...  morePatrick McCarthy founded the Colchester Bach Choir in November 1992 when he agreed to train a Choir to perform a baroque programme with Frederick Marshall and the Lavenham Sinfonia in Long Melford Church. The success of this project led to a charity performance of Messiah co-directed by Patrick and Peter Holman at the Swinburne Hall, Colchester Institute, which was part broadcast by Classic FM. Since then the Choir has presented three or four concerts each season in Colchester (usually at St. Botolph's Church), often featuring baroque Music. Many of the original members still sing with the Choir, which is intended for experienced choristers (members sing with other Choirs and some have solo careers) who can sight read well and respond to direction, thus enabling concerts to be performed with only two or three rehearsals. The Chamber Choir sings a varied repertoire of classical liturgical and secular Music from the Renaissance to the present, as well as arrangements of spirituals and songs from around the world, Israeli and Jewish Music, and more. The Choir performs regularly in churches and concert spaces in Jerusalem and around Israel and has performed in festivals and programs in France, Italy, Spain, Germany, the United States, and Switzerland. The Jerusalem Oratorio Chamber Choir is an unaffiliated Choir whose membership spans the religious/secular and political divide in Israeli society. The "family" also includes older levels, a treble chamber Choir, a Mixed young adult chorus...  moreThe Surrey Children's Choir family represents 3 Choirs, a Junior Training Choir, an Intermediate Training Choir, and the Senior Surrey Children's Choir. The "family" also includes older levels, a treble chamber Choir, a Mixed young adult chorus, and a community adult chorus. The Junior and Intermediate Training Choirs (JTC and ITC) provide a program of sequentially developed skills which prepare choristers for admission into the Surrey Children's Choir. The training Choirs perform annually at the Family Christmas Concert and Year End concert (held in May of each year). They also often compete at the Fraser Valley Kiwanis Music Festival, always with great results. The training Choirs may also perform at various events in the community.
