We rehearse, in excellent facilities provided by Hutchesons' Grammar School, on Monday evenings, Aug - Nov and Jan - Mar; we give two concerts, in Nov and Mar, in an on-site auditorium, with 3-manual digital organ. The auditorium can accommodate 60 singers, up to 30 orchestral players and an audience of around 250 (300 max).  

This composition is based on a text from Alice in Wonderland, which appeals to children and youth choirs directly. The poem has a clear structure (verse – chorus), and the vocal parts are kept straightforward. The striking piece contains some jazzy chords and humorously unexpected twists. This work won the first prize in the 2013 Composition Competition of the European Choral Association in the frame of the festival Youth Choirs in Movement.

In addition to our annual subscription series, we sing with both the National Arts Centre Orchestra and the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra . The choir has made five international tours to Italy, Spain, Germany and the Czech Republic and the United Kingdom and Ireland . Founded in 1977, the choir has gained a well-deserved reputation for performing neglected and unfamiliar music as well as better known and popular pieces, both sacred and secular. New members are welcome and encouraged to attend three rehearsals before an informal voice appraisal.

Celebrating world music and arts Promoting multi-cultural awareness Supporting children's health and education projects in The Gambia, West Africa As well as hosting an annual World Musicand Arts Festival and the choir we also run a weekly West African Drumming workshop. Both groups enjoy performing at our own and other local community events and festivals.
