In 2007 the name was changed to"VIVA, Sandnes Kulturskolekor", Viva for short, when we talk about us. Our leading text for working with the children is what Pablo Casals once said: "Each second we live is a new and special moment, a never returning moment. It typically assembles a Choir for a brief time before each performance, then disbands until just before the next concert when a new Choir is formed. The singers may or may not be the same each time. The Choir is known for its freshness of sound and heart felt connections with the listener.

We have been invited by Ely Cathedral in Cambridgeshire, UK, to sing as "Choir in residence" for a week in July 2014, taking over their Choir's duties of singing 8 services that week. We are the only Hawai'i Choir to belong to the Royal School of Church Music, and we use their adjudication standards to award medals which are internationally recognized by the RSCM. We sing sacred Music in English, Latin, and Hawaiian. We are always looking for new choristers. Auditions are year-around, although placement occurs only in fall semester and spring semester. It specializes in choral and early Music—notably Renaissance, Baroque, and rarely heard repertoire—and is dedicated to delivering emotionally resonant, historically informed performances. Winner of the Chorus America/ASCAP Alice Parker Award, Crescendo invites choral singers to audition for its 22nd season.This season, our repertoire spans 16th-century motets, works by Johann Sebastian Bach, and contemporary Music in the Piazzolla style, featuring the U.S. premiere of Martín Palmeri’s A Jewish Cantata (2022). Our rehearsals take place on Monday evenings starting in September at Trinity Lime Rock Lakeville, Connecticut.  less
