The choir's mission is to nurture Bulgarian talent and instill a love for choral art among ...  moreIrina Stiglich Choir is a Bulgarian youth mixed ensemble, led by The artistic guidance of its conductor Marina Koleva, accompanied by The pianist Svetlin Hristov. The choir's mission is to nurture Bulgarian talent and instill a love for choral art among young individuals aged 16 to 35. It honors Bulgaria's choral traditions while occasionally embracing contemporary trends in choral performance, employing techniques like body percussion and mise-en-scène to enhance Their vocal craft. Founded as Pastoral - female chamber choir in 1987, nowadays The ensemble carries The name of its originator Irina Stiglich. Тhe choir's repertoire encompasses (or includes) works by both Bulgarian and international composers, spanning eras from The Renaissance to modern times. They've embarked on concert tours across The country and abroad participating in international choral festivals and competitions. In These few years, The young all-girls choir has grown from strength to strength. Since June 2009, under The direction of Their conductor, Mr Darius Lim, The choir has garnered numerous accolades and awards to Their name. In 2010 The choir won The Gold Award at The 3rd Orientale Concentus International Choral Competition in Yilan, Taiwan. The choir was also Category Winner and was one of four choirs to be invited to compete in The grand finals. In 2011 The choir attained Their first Silver award at The Singapore Youth Festival Central Judging of Choirs. In The same year They came in 2nd at The National A Capella Championships. Well, as The day progressed to afternoon, oTher tunes got added, resulting in ...  moreIt all began with The idea one morning that The "oTher tune" for Nahum Tate's carol "While shepherds watched" is, of course, The Yorkshire ditty "On Ilkley moor bar t'hat". Well, as The day progressed to afternoon, oTher tunes got added, resulting in a curious potpourri for choir and piano. The choir gets to sing "On Ilkla Moor", The Este psalter tune known to all, and also Auld Lang Syne. The second voice, in its madrigalian way, gets a sly English cadence!. Meanwhile, The piano also gets some sly references to "Sing a song of sixpence" and "Scotland The brave".
