This smallest and most select of the Hofstra Choirs comprises the best singers at the University, both within and outside the Department of Music, and focuses on the distinct art of unaccompanied, or a cappella, ensemble singing, presented in carefully chosen performance spaces that are uniquely attuned to celebrate the human voice's potential. From an educational standpoint, the ensemble serves two main functions for the University. First, it acts as a laboratory for Hofstra’s future music educators, both undergraduate and graduate, providing outlets for the exploration of the art of ensemble preparation through the study of the highest-quality choral literature. Singers are therefore welcome to apply at any point, since the group will be fixed from a central pool for each concert. Repertoire is wide-ranging, from Renaissance polyphony to commissions from established and emerging British composers. The group is directed by Hilary Campbell and welcomes interest from experienced and enthusiastic choral singers of all ages.

This 30-strong male Choir aspires to the celebrated male choral tradition and delights in exploring its infinite artistic depth. Under the leadership of Meng-Hsien Peng as conductor and artistic director since 2013, the Choir has achieved prestige as one of the country’s foremost choral groups. Throughout its seventeen years of existence, the Müller Chamber Choir has time and time again participated in international choral events to expand its artistic vision. In 2007, led by maestro Julian Ching-Chun Su, the Choir participated in the 23rd Takarazuka International Chamber Chorus Contest in Japan and took home a gold medal in the Folklore category and a silver medal in the Romantic category, placing second in the overall ranking. We make numerous cathedral visits throughout the year, but also offer occasional sung services to smaller churches without a Choir. We also offer fundraising concerts for charities, building appeals, etc. and are available to hire for weddings, funerals and other occasions.  

The Claremont Chamber Choir performs Greg Bartholomew's The Tree on Sunday, April 27, 2008, at the Claremont Colleges' Garrison Theatre of the Scripps College Performing Arts Center.
