We are an auditioning, non-professional chamber choir, performing a diverse programme of repertoire at regular intervals throughout the year. We draw our membership from the hugely successful EC4 Music, a choir and orchestra that is widely regarded as one of the leading large amateur groups in London, and it is from this platform of success that CCoV takes its lead.
EC4 Music recently performed at the Barbican for the fifth time, raising money for The Prince’s Trust and is also very excited to be making its Royal Festival Hall debut in October this year to mark the grand finale of the Lord Mayor's Appeal 2011. Lord Mayor, Michael Bear's appeal supports children’s charity Coram and RedR, a charity that trains and provides engineers and other relief workers to respond to worldwide emergencies. The celebratory all-English programme concludes with Walton's stunning Belshazzar's Feast. With the aim of producing one of the best amateur chamber choi... less

This tradition caused another one: in the end of each choir's anniversary concert, all the former choristers being present among the audience come to the stage and sing these famous Choruses together with the main part of the choir.

With a great sense of fun and a unique style of entertainment, the Chorus has gripped audiences during its history of 34 years. Our close knit membership of nearly sixty guys has a strong commitment to vocal and performance excellence. Cottontown particularly enjoy competing in both national and international barbershop competitions. Well respected stages around the UK including the London Palladium have given us the opportunity to wow audiences with stirring harmonies, emotional lyrics, exciting choreography and visual effects.
In competition, the Bolton based group has succeeded in winning the much sought after Gold Medal at the British Association of Barbershop Singers (BABS) convention four times in the last six years and represented the UK twice at the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS) International Convention held in the USA. It was in 2008 when Cottontown Chorus probably attained most of its public attentio... less
