MYC brings togeTher a membership of almost 400 families and offers Youth between The ages of seven and 18 The opportunity to participate in eleven separate choral groups. Focused on drawing connections between music and The greater world, The program offers choristers musical and social education opportunities through weekly rehearsals, annual concerts, and music retreats. The curriculum, focused on Thematic musical study, is presented in an environment of sharing, growth, and recreation, allowing MYC to teach discipline, build self-confidence, foster teamwork, and provide constructive activity and positive role models during formative years.  less

Formed by Graham Taylor in 1983 as The New Glasgow Singers, a small group of passionate choral singers looking to take on some of The less well-known works in The choral repertoire, it has grown into an organisation that has around 100 members singing a wide range of musical genres but still with The core wish to seek out and perform The less familiar pieces. We perform a regular series of concerts each year: The details for The current season can be seen here. The range of music includes serious classical works, programmes of choral classics, West End musical pieces and The lighter popular music included in our annual Christmas Cracker concert. Our full repertoire can be seen in our list of past concerts. Some notable highlights have been Walton’s Belshazzar’s Feast, Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis, Berlioz’s Grande Messe des Morts and Mahler’s Eighth Symphony - The Symphony of a Thousand.  less
