The word 'vacilando' is Spanish, and refers to taking enjoyment out of the journey rather than focusing on the ...  moreVacilando is the newest choir in the Kokopelli Choir Association, created in response to many requests for an adult choir in our organization! The word 'vacilando' is Spanish, and refers to taking enjoyment out of the journey rather than focusing on the destination. As such, the choir will take a more casual approach to music-making, with fewer performances throughout the season than Òran, our young adult choir. The group will still place an emphasis on all the things that make Kokopelli's music-making unique, however: community, multiculturalism, choral excellence, and multifaceted performances.  less

We rehearse, in excellent facilities provided by Hutchesons' Grammar School, on Monday evenings, Aug - Nov and Jan - Mar; we give two concerts, in Nov and Mar, in an on-site auditorium, with 3-manual digital organ. The auditorium can accommodate 60 singers, up to 30 orchestral players and an audience of around 250 (300 max).  

This composition is based on a text from Alice in Wonderland, which appeals to children and youth choirs directly. The striking piece contains some jazzy chords...  moreThis composition is based on a text from Alice in Wonderland, which appeals to children and youth choirs directly. The poem has a clear structure (verse – chorus), and the vocal parts are kept straightforward. The striking piece contains some jazzy chords and humorously unexpected twists. This work won the first prize in the 2013 Composition Competition of the European Choral Association in the frame of the festival Youth Choirs in Movement.
