Bairstow, Poem by Shelly) Das "Ensemble quartonal" wurde im Jahr 2006 von vier ehemaligen Mitgliedern der Chorknaben Uetersen gegründet. Im Mai 2010 konnte das junge Quartett beim Deutschen Chorwettbewerb den 1. Preis in der erstmals ausgeschriebenen Kategorie der klassischen Ensembles gewinnen und wurde damit über die Landesgrenzen hinaus bekannt. Diese Aufnahme stammt von einem Konzert im Lübecker Dom.

The word 'vacilando' is Spanish, and refers to taking enjoyment out of the journey rather than focusing on the destination. As such, the Choir will take a more casual approach to Music-making, with fewer performances throughout the season than Òran, our young adult Choir. The group will still place an emphasis on all the things that make Kokopelli's Music-making unique, however: community, multiculturalism, choral excellence, and multifaceted performances.  less

It was founded in 1936 as the Dow Male Chorus with membership from the men of the Dow Chemical Company. In 1961, Dow discontinued its Music Department and the chorus became the Men of Music and along with the rest of the Dow Music Department formed The Music Society under director Ted Vosburgh. Since then there were several women directors who continued to lead the chorus. The Men of Music continues today providing excellant men's four part harmony with our present very talented director, Grace Marra, who joined the chorus in 1994. We also appreciate the talents of Laurie Habedank who serves as our accompanist.  less

The Choir was formed in 1986 initially to provide a Choir for Midnight Eucharist on Christmas Eve, but since then we have become an established part of the Wells Cathedral scene, and now sing 40 to 50 of the regular services throughout the year, as well as some of the festival services which include a Requiem Mass on All Soul’s Day. We are an amateur auditioned Choir of 30 and strive for a high standard, so for potential members it is important to have a reasonable sight-singing ability. We rehearse regularly throughout the year on a Thursday evening. The Music we perform is very varied and as well as psalms we sing a wide range of canticles, masses and anthems of all genres so “Variety is the spice of life”! There is no membership fee, as we are fortunate to be supported financially with grants from the Cathedral Chapter and the Friends of Wells Cathedral.
