Reading A440 choir presents choral Music with the added dimension of multi-media storytelling and the incorporation of non-choral arts supplementing our Music in our performances. We also like to enter competitions.

At present, Akademen has around 60 active singers, most of whom are University students. However, quite a few choose to stay in the active choir long after graduation, which makes for a healthy mix of youth and experience. We give concerts regularly in Finland, and travel abroad as frequently as possible. In addition to all the Scandinavian and most European countries, Akademen has been on tour in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United States, Hong Kong, the Philippines, and Singapore. We believe that ambitious Musical development can go hand-in-hand with tradition, and work enthusiastically to keep alive the dialogue between past and present.  less

We're a choir of about 15 people, singing secular Music from all genres and from all times (from the sixteenth century onwards, that is). And provided that it's a cappella Music. Even within these limits, there's still an awful lot of pieces left ...
