We perform mainly, but not exclusively, classic...  moreThe Barnes Choir, originally known as the Barnes Music Club Choir, was established in 1953/4. A friendly and sociable Choir, we number some70 Singers drawn mostly from the Barnes, Sheen and Richmond areas. We perform mainly, but not exclusively, classical choral works, including those of local composers such as Howard Goodall and Gustav Holst, and we occasionally commission new works, most recently from Russell Hepplewhite. We perform three concerts each season at local venues and we also sing at local charitable events at Christmas, and at summer fêtes, and we raise funds for local cancer support charity The Mulberry Centre at our Christmas Carol concert. We offer an open Come and Sing day each season and arrange overseas singing tours, our most recent being a trip to Lisbon last autumn.  less

The Choir’s extensive repertoire covers all periods of vocal music and the 20th. century, among them choral works composed by R.R. ...  moreFor more than 100 years now the male Choir HARMONIE Lindenholzhausen with its 90 Singers presents high-quality Choir music. The Choir’s extensive repertoire covers all periods of vocal music and the 20th. century, among them choral works composed by R.R. Klein, A. Koerppen, F. Farcas and many others more. Some of the works have been specially composed for HARMONIE Lindenholzhausen. At the same time the Choir dedicates itself to oratorioes usually performed together with the female Choir “Dzintars” Riga / Latvia. Numerous concert tours and participations in international festivals took the HARMONIE to Austria, the Czech Republic, Egypt, England, Greece, Holland, Hungary, Macedonia, Russia, USA and Wales. In Wales the Choir won first prize in the male Choir category at the International “Eisteddfod” Llangollen in 1995 and 2007(second prize in 2003). Founded in 2009, Gotham Rock Choir was formed to provide an outlet for Singers of all levels and backgrounds to explore contemporary music in a supportive, fun, uplifting environment, to provide an alternative to the city’s many traditional Choirs and to provide much-needed sense of “cool” to choral singing. Each week, a diverse group of New Yorkers from all walks of life–ranging from show business professionals to avid shower Singers–gather at a professional rehearsal studio in Midtown Manhattan to belt out an eclectic mix of music in stunning 4-part harmony in preparation for a final concert held at an off-Broadway theatre.
