The choir, founded in 2005, is composed of alumni of the Essence of Joy Choir of The Pennsylvania State University. EOJAS has performed extensively in locations such as Pennsylvania, Alabama, Maryland, Virginia, Florida, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Washington D.C., Belgium, Luxembourg, and France. EOJAS is an official Alumni Interest Group (AIG) of the Penn State Alumni Association. EOJAS' mission is to learn, present, and promote African and African-American sacred and secular music in an effort to entertain, inspire, affirm and unify the worldwide community. For security reasons, we could not take footage but everyone...  moreOn 26 of May, 2012, members of SoundRoutes choirs from across Glasgow and Lanarkshire visited Addiewell prison for the day to record a 4 track Ep "Changing Key" with the Addiewell Prison Choir. For security reasons, we could not take footage but everyone who was present knows that the atmosphere was electric. An unlikely place to experience joy and community spirit, music brought together people from dramatically different backgrounds and gave them a common purpose. All proceeds go to Shelter Scotland.
