At the beginning, PSM-ITB sang only in campus society and subsequently performed in public. However since 1973, it participated in various national choir competitions and repeatedly won the first prizes. This led PSM-ITB to become one of the most established choirs in Indonesia. In several occasions, the choir has been given the chance to perform in events attended by the President of Indonesia. It regularly performs in Concerts, occasionally collaborated with other choirs and orchestras.
In 1968 PSM-ITB organized the 1st ITB Choir Festival (FPS-ITB). Since then the festival is held biannually and becomes the largest national choir event in term of categories (from children to adult and folklore catagories) and participants. About the work:
My sister is an English teacher at the Minnesota International Middle School in Minneapolis which provides a safe and inclusive environment for East African immigrant students to learn (many of whom are Somali). Most of these students came to the USA to escape the violent civil war that has plagued Somalia since 1991. Seeking a better life for their children, these students' parents risked their lives to come to the USA - a valiant act of love. I wanted to tell their story through music and so I asked my sister to have her students write poems about their experiences leaving their home and coming to the USA. I received over 100 poems that contain passion, pride, emotion, and vivid stories of the sights and sounds ... less

An artist who stops creating ceases to be an artist. Academic Choir of Gdańsk University of Technology, the oldest artistic student organization at the Gdańsk University of Technology, despite current situation, has not ceased its activity. We organise ourselves, work and create. This is the first "product" of our virtual work.
We did it for yourselves to give you a little respite, joy, smile, hope and faith in a better future. Thanks to the fact that we have a share in culture - as creators and recipients - it is easier to live, it is easier to face everyday challenges.
Music has great power. Music reaches our senses. We become better people thanks to music.
