Being trapped in our homes due to COVID-19 didn’t keep us from singing together – quarantine rather boosted our creativity and turned white walls and bed sheets, smartphones and bookshelves into almost professional home studios. From rehearsing to audio recording and video production, the physical distance between us couldn’t stop our passion for making music together. In times that make us realize what’s most important to us, we felt closer than ever and really understood that … we don’t need fancy! Since forming in November of 2010, The Marion Consort have performed in Chicago, Milwaukee, and Arlington Heights. This past August, they had the privilege of performing at the Chicago Cultural Center as part of the Classical Music Mondays series. Their mission is to present performances for various audiences with music by well known composers, while also exploring the works of lesser known composers.
