The ...  moreThe Harrow Apollo Male Choir was formed in 1941 in a North London aircraft factory and today its 50 dedicated members continue the tradition of singing for enjoyment, for well-being, and to raise funds for charity. New members are always welcome! The Choir regularly performs at weddings, corporate events and massed male voice choir events, enthralling audiences up and down the country, having also performed in Jersey, Ireland, Belgium, Germany and the USA. Choristers hail from all over North London and have raised substantial funds for national and local charities including the Paul Strickland Scanner Appeal, The Stroke Association, the RAF Benevolent Fund and Bentley Priory Museum. Boosting about 190 choristers ages 5 to 18, the HCC offers youth vocal training and music instruction to foster creative expression and appreciation of music. Its latest choir program, Lads & Gents, is a boys choir program that provides young male singers (ages 8 to 28) with an opportunity to explore their choral instrument within a safe, supportive environment, surrounded by other boys and young men. Led by artistic director and conductor, Jakub Martinec, the Czech Boys Choir organization provides artistic training for boys from the age of three to adult, and consists of the professional touring SATB concert choir, the Young Men's Ensemble with conductor Jennifer Beynon Martinec, and the training choir Zpěváček, led by Simona Hlavatá.
