The choir serves as a musical ambassador for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and is recognized throughout the world. The Choir calls the Salt Lake Tabernacle, which houses an organ with 11,000+ pipes, home. The choir has won many awards, including an Emmy and Grammy award, sang for 10 US Presidents, and hosts the longest continual broadcast Music and the Spoken Word (which airs live every Sunday at 9:30am Mountain Standard Time). On October 26, 2020 the Tabernacle Choir was named one of the top 10 choirs in the world by Britain’s CLASSICAL-MUSIC.  less

The main interest of the choir is to serve through music repertoires performances especially in Manado Diocese which consists of catholic churches of the province. The choir performs ordinarily music during Catholic Mass and other forms of choir services in churches and events. The formation of this Catholic youth has agreed to give contribution to the church and the country as young generation through music. In 2014, Manado Catholic Choir had established its junior member, named Manado Catholic Youth Choir (MCYC). Paul Rudoi, winner of MCA's 2011 "Young Composer's Composition Competition" and member of Cantus (also based in Minneapolis), has written a special composition for the combined ensembles that will be premiered in Milwaukee, then repeated in two performances when MCA travels to Minneapolis to perform with the National Lutheran Choir on their All Saints' programs November 3 and 4, 2012. The choir has sung in many cities in Italy and abroad, and has more than 300 performances to its credit.

ABOUT THE CHOIR: Since 2009, the CWU Chamber choir has held annual recording sessions to create videos specifically designed for YouTube. All are under the baton of Dr. Gary A. Weidenaar, who has been the director of the choir since 2006. As of Fall, 2016; there are 26 videos.
