About Us: The Munting Himig Chorale (MHC) had its humble beginning way back on the fifth day of January, year 2005 and started with not more than 15 members. It was originally formed by Ben Camaso as JCSV Chorale, a name patterned in accordance to the Jaime Cardina... moreThe Munting Himig Chorale (MHC) had its humble beginning way back on the fifth day of January, year 2005 and started with not more than 15 members. It was originally formed by Ben Camaso as JCSV Chorale, a name patterned in accordance to the Jaime Cardinal Sin Village Community, which in that time was newly constructed, located at Punta. Sta. Ana, Manila, where the parish is situated. Before, they compose of only girls, singing melody of the songs of the Holy Mass. A year passed, Virgilio Deloso handled the choir, and divided the girls into two voices, the Sopranos and Altos. It was not so long that the group acquired male participants filling up all the voice sections of a chorale.
Shortly after, JCSV Chorale was then disbanded to give rise to what they now call the Munting Himig Chorale, having more than 20 god-endearing and angelic-voiced youth of Punta. Virgilio deloso still, with Sammy Viado currently act as their choirmasters, lead the group into one that is geared, and not constricted to, singing and glorifying God through masses, but also in exploiting the talents and pushing their capabilities through concert and event guesting. One of which was the Sayawitan, held at the PhilamLife Theater in U.N. Ave., Ermita, Manila, a project concert of Manila Master’s Chorale last 2009.
For the past seven years, the MHC continues to grow not only in number of members, but also in development of their musical ability, and most of all, its commitment to serve the Lord through music, and praise Him with their voices. Singing out loud, from earth to heaven, The Munting Himig Chorale envisions communicating the words of praise and assisting the youth in trailing the path to holiness through music. less
