Their stylish performances, featuring early Medieval plainchant right through to commissions of West Australian composers, have been delighting audiences and critics alike since 1995.
The Consort prides itself on unearthing lesser-known early music (such as music of De Brossard, Certon, and Clereau), showcasing larger-scale choral masterpieces (Monteverdi's 1610 Vespers, various Bach Cantatas), and presenting high-quality interpretations of well-known classics (Pergolesi's Stabat Mater, Durufle's Requiem, Britten's Hymn to St. Cecilia, Allegri's Miserere and Tavener's Song for Athene).
Many singers from The Giovanni Consort have gone on to national and international careers. Rachelle Durkin, Taryn Fiebig, Iain Grandage, Andrew Moran, Stuart Haycock, Luke Gabbedy, Amber Lister, and recently Katja Webb have all gone on to grace the stages of opera houses and concert venues around the world. less
